EEP Diamonds and Hexagon Cushion

It's been sooo long! I finished this little cushion last week and managed to get some photographs this morning so I thought that now was as good a time as any to get back on the blogging horse. I was working on the paper piecing way back at the beginning of July (and some considerable time before that - I don't like to do too much hand sewing at a time). It was always meant to become a cushion but I liked it so much once I had finished the black quilting around the stars that I thought it deserved to be out among the world as a bag. It came close, handles and a lining and everything, but it just looked a bit odd, and a lot like a cushion. So that's what it is.

I used some of the Lizzy House Constellations prints and a couple of solids to make some bunting to go over the bed to brighten it up a bit. I really like that line but it's very non-matchy so I've struggled to use it until now.

I love everything pretty and flowery and pink but it's so nice to get back to sewing something boyish after so much girly-girl sewing lately.

I've got lots of things to sew over the next couple of weeks so I should be checking back in with some new projects soon :)
